GROEN is looking for a Commercial Construction Manager who can deliver excellence every day, proactively communicate with others, pursue growth and learning, and build lasting relationships based on trust and consistency. To be successful in this role: you must have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management AND at least 5 years of commercial construction project management experience including design-build and construction manager experience with leadership on projects over $2M.

You are PMP trained and/or have PMI PMP certification. REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is required. An Engineering field degree (Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural) is preferred but not required. An acceptable combination of education and relatable experience may be considered.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing commercial construction

Experience in GMP and CMAR contracting is a plus

Knowledge of codes and general construction methods

Demonstrated ability to read and understand commercial contracts including AIA contracts and documents.

Experience in writing detailed scopes of work

Computer skills Excel, Word, estimating and scheduling software

Excellent people management, communication, and negotiating skills

Ability to work independently, to use time productively, and to work well with customers in a multi-functional, fast-paced environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Prepare project schedules
-
Review project drawings and specifications
-
Develop pre-construction plans

Coordinate with the project development team to develop the architectural and construction specifications

Able to prepare detailed construction estimates

Review budget information and meet targeted budget goals

Conduct project kick-off meetings and lead weekly project progress/performance meetings with leadership

Coordinate materials and subcontractor buy-out for projects

Monitor expenditures identifying variances between actual and budget costs and revenue and implement corrective actions

Coordinate with the team to ensure projects are completed from start to finish in a timely and efficient manner

Decision making responsibility concerning project cost, time, methods, and performance

Accountability for contract administration, execution, job cost tracking, billing, change order control system, claims, and job closeout
