How long does it take to build a starter home?
Depending on size average is anywhere from four to six months.

Do you do landscaping?
Yes, we have a number of local landscaping companies we team up with. On occasion, a home owner may request to perform their own landscaping to reduce overall costs.
Can you provide a landscape designer?
Yes, we can provide a landscape designer.
Can you work with my interior decorator?
Yes, we’ve worked with numerous interior decorators.

Do you provide plans?
Yes, we have an in house design team that can assist you in creating a plan that turns your ideas and dreams into reality. If you need a concept to start your journey to your new home or addition, we have previous plans you can review, adapt from to make your own or start from scratch. We advise that you do research and consult a builder before purchasing home plans online. Many home plans available for purchase online are not designed for climates that experience snow.
Do you provide a warranty?
Groen Construction, Inc. uses quality materials and expert labor, and will guarantee the construction of your project for one year from date of completion. This warranty does not cover damage caused by the Buyers or parties other than Groen Construction, Inc. or its crew or subcontractors and it does not cover normal wear and tear.
Do you provide financing?
We do not provide financing but are experienced in working with many different financial institutions during the course of our projects.
Do you do total projects that include fencing, pools, barns, riding rings, etc.?
We have years of experience with many different request from our clients. We would be happy to discuss your needs and do our best to meet them.
Do you perform small home renovations or remodels?
There are several factors help determine which projects are well suited for us. First is the project size. If the project is small (e.g., bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, door or window replacement), we will likely not be able to quote it as cost effectively as a smaller builder or general contractor would. Second, does the house have lead paint. Although we are a Certified Lead Renovator and do occasionally take on projects that require lead paint removal, we prefer that the lead paint removal is a very small percentage of the scope of work. Third is location. For a smaller project, we prefer to stay within a 25 mile radius of Rochester.
Do you remove lead paint?
At Groen Construction, we take lead poisoning prevention very seriously. Although we are certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to perform renovations on projects that disturb lead-based paint, we are not a lead abatement company. Abatement is a specialized activity designed to specifically address and remove lead in the home. We do not perform lead abatement services.
What is the average cost of Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) on a new custom built home?
Typically, you can anticipate a 10 - 15% increase in overall cost if you build a home with ICF. If it is a simple, straight forward house, it will be closer to 10%. A more complex house would be closer to 15%. ICF tends to be more cost competitive on commercial projects. Some commercial projects have even turn out to be more cost effective when built with ICF.
Where do you provide construction services?
Most of the residential projects that we target are located in Southeast New Hampshire and Southern Maine. We tend to stretch a bit beyond that for commercial projects. We are not licensed to work in Massachusetts.
